How Roadmate Dispatch Actually Works
Every service above runs through the same process. You book online or call, you see the price before you confirm anything, and a real dispatcher reviews the job instead of an algorithm blasting it out to whoever is closest. That review step is the whole point. It is what stops a wheel lift truck from being sent to a lowered all wheel drive car, or a jump start being dispatched to a vehicle that clearly needs a tow.
Once the job is matched, you get the technician's name, the company, and a live tracking link so you are not standing on a shoulder guessing at an ETA. If anything changes on the road, weather, traffic, a truck that breaks down on its way to you, the dispatcher tells you rather than letting the clock run.
No Membership, No Annual Fee
Traditional auto clubs charge you every year whether you break down or not, cap how many calls you can make, and limit your free towing to a short mileage band before per mile charges kick in. We do not sell plans. You pay once, for the call you actually needed, at a price you saw before you agreed to it. For most drivers who break down once every couple of years, that works out cheaper than a decade of dues.
Pricing varies by service and by distance for tows, but the structure never changes: a clear service fee, mileage where it applies, and any surcharge for overnight or difficult access disclosed in the quote rather than added to an invoice afterward. If the technician cannot complete the job, you are not charged for work that did not happen.
Choosing the Right Service
If the engine cranks slowly or clicks, start with a jump start. If the car is dark and nothing responds, that may still be a battery, but tell the dispatcher so we can prepare for a tow if the jump does not hold. A single flat with a usable spare is a tire change. Two flats, a bent wheel, or no spare means a tow. Keys visible inside a locked car is a lockout. Keys lost entirely means a locksmith or a tow to the dealer. Running dry is fuel delivery unless the vehicle is electric, in which case it is a flatbed to a charger. A car off the shoulder, in a ditch, or buried in snow is a winch out.
